Michael Sklaire has joined Williams Mullen as a partner in the firm's Litigation Section. His practice focuses on government investigations, corporate compliance, and general commercial litigation. Mr. Sklaire has extensive experience as a trial lawyer, including over 11 years as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Prior to joining Williams Mullen, Mr. Sklaire worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in the District of Connecticut where he was assigned to the Organized Crime Task Force. In that position, he successfully prosecuted the mayor of Connecticut's largest city on bribery and racketeering charges. Additionally, with the Department of Justice, he worked in the Narcotics and Dangerous Drug Section, the Office of Enforcement Operations (Electronic Surveillance Branch), and the Money Laundering Section. He then took a position in the Washington, D.C. office of a nationally-recognized law firm.
Mr. Sklaire is licensed to practice in the states of Connecticut and Maryland, as well as, the District of Columbia. In addition, he is on the board of directors of the Federal Bar Association's Criminal Law Section, and is a member of the Criminal Justice Section of the District of Columbia Bar.
Mr. Sklaire earned a B.A. from the University of Vermont and a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law.
