Newport News, VA - Williams Mullen announced today that seasoned litigation attorney William Stauffer has joined the firm as partner in the Newport News office. Mr. Stauffer has more than 30 years of experience litigating matters in state and federal courts, primarily in the mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Stauffer comes to Williams Mullen from the firm of Miles & Stockbridge P.C., where he served as managing partner of the Northern Virginia office and co-chair of the Commercial and Business Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Stauffer relocated to the Hampton Roads area, making his home in Williamsburg, Va.

Mr. Stauffer has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine on multiple occasions as one of the state's "Legal Elite" for civil litigation. He focuses his practice on complex business trials, including representation of the developer/homebuilder, financial institution and manufacturing industries. Also active in the community, Mr. Stauffer volunteers his time with the Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Stauffer received his bachelor of arts degree from Pennsylvania State University. He received his juris doctor degree from William & Mary School of Law.
